First Design - Cherries Jubilee

To say I am excited right now is a huge understatement as I have just completed my very first dress that will be sold in my future store: CHERRIES JUBILEE. It has nothing to do with the dessert other than the cherries, but when my sister was a little girl she named her first bike Cherries Jubilee (it had red handlebars) so I was always fond of that name. I have an obsession with cherries--no idea why, but it's been that way for years and years so I simply had to do a cherry-themed dress (I won't even mention how many cherry items I own). After much trial and error I finally completed the look I wanted: A black halter dress with a custom cherry print design, flexi neck bow, and flexi skirt with a red "tulle" underskirt. I was going for retro and I think it's just perfect for that stylish fashionista.

When I finally finished the dress complete with snapshots, I could not create a poster that looked good. Graphic Design is a very particular area that I am pretty sure I have absolutely no talent for, so I texted my bestie to ask her if she'd be willing to design the poster for me. We met in art school and she has been a professional graphic designer for many years now, so thankfully she was kind enough to help me out right away and make a beautiful design. Might I just add: there is nothing wrong with seeking help from others when you need it--in fact, I find that when I do the end result is way better than I could have even imagined. Love to my bestie!
